Learned at a Haitian table
Mikia Limprevil was born and raised in America. Her husband is from Cap-Haïtien, and it was his family — her father-in-law and sisters-in-law — who taught her to cook the food she now serves.
Twenty years of watching, learning and cooking alongside them is what sits behind every tray that leaves her kitchen. Haitian cooking takes time, and she treats that as the point rather than the problem.
The menu
Griot, legim, soup joumou and tassot, with the sides and desserts a Delaware table expects beside them. Menus are built per event.
Signature proteins
Traditional favourites and elevated entrées.
Griot (fried pork), chicken, turkey wings, conch, shrimp, salmon, red snapper whole or filleted, whiting, slow-cooked or roasted beef, and tassot — beef, goat or turkey.
Rice & Haitian specialities
The foundation of a Haitian table.
Rice and beans with red or lima beans, rice with vegetables, sous pwa with black or kidney beans, white rice, and our signature rice with cashews and black mushrooms.
Vegetables & sides
Haitian staples alongside the plates everyone knows.
Greens, string beans, cabbage, corn on the cob, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, plantains, akra, pikliz, tossed salad, pasta salad, chicken, beef and fish patties, Haitian or American macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, and roasted potatoes with or without cheese.
Soups & stews
Slow-cooked, and worth the wait.
Soup joumou, legim — vegetarian, beef, chicken, turkey or seafood — and chicken and dumplings.
Desserts
Simple, and the first thing to go.
Banana pudding, rum cake, and brownies.
Charcuterie & speciality boards
Built for gatherings and celebrations.
Beautifully presented boards arranged for your occasion.
Three ways to cater
Every event is quoted individually. These are the three shapes most bookings take.
The Earth Collection
Family gatherings and smaller celebrations
A welcoming menu of Haitian favourites, chosen to feed a room without overwhelming it.
The Sun Collection
Birthdays, graduations and showers
A broader spread for celebrations where guests want choice, with more proteins and sides across the table.
The Earth & Sun Experience
Weddings and bespoke events
A menu and presentation built around you, for clients who want the whole thing personalised.
